Fun in the Park!

Our first official visit to the park was a hit! They all loved the slide! Their friend Austin met us there, and they all rode the 4-baby teeter-totter! How perfect!

Ellison

Let's see...updates...well, Haley has finally gotten the knack of walking. It took her awhile, but she's up and at 'em now! Now that she's walking, she just roams around the house talking...not really sure what she's saying, but she says it with everything she has! Elli is now running. We have a small hill in the back yard that she likes to run down! She's wiped out several times and tumbled head over heels, but she's a good sport about it! Tyler is such a snuggler and a big momma's boy! Jeff changes his diaper every morning, then he comes to find me in the bathroom while I'm getting ready. This morning the door to the bathroom was closed, so he just stood outside and yelled for me...too cute!

Tooth count: Elli has 8, Haley has 1, and Tyler has 1.

They LOVE smoothies, pancakes, cheerios, and PB&Js! Elli is super picky, so sometimes it can be a challenge to find things for her to eat. I am still doing a mostly organic diet for them, but the hour drive to the closest organic market can be a pain.

OK - I think I've hit the highlights! I hope you are all enjoying your summer! Thanks for stopping in to see us! Until next time...

Thank you, Cassandra!

This post is a few weeks overdue! Jeff and I want to send out a HUGE thank you to our nanny, Cassandra!!! She has officially been with us for one year! The year has flown by, and Cassandra and I have reminisced about how tiny the kids were when she started! I can't imagine how intimidating it had to be on her first day, but she took the job with a smile and has done such a wonderful job helping us raise the babies!!! The kids absolutely LOVE her! As a matter of fact, when we ran into her at IHOP last week, Elli threw a fit and refused to sit with us - she wanted to be with Cassandra!

People are always asking me how we manage triplets and both work. Well, we do it only because we have Cassandra. She makes it so that when we get off of work at the end of the day, we can just be parents. All the laundry is taken care of, bottles are made, toys are put away, the nursery is organized, oh I could go on and on!!! We really are so blessed to have someone who loves the kids the way she does!

So here is her long overdue debut on the blog! Thanks Cassandra! We all love you!

Family Time

If you've been following the blog for awhile, you've noticed that every entry has a comment from John, Missy, Kaitlyn and Nicole. Well, after one long year, we finally got to spend some quality time with them at the lake! My aunt was also there, along with my grandmother, mom, brother and his wife Erica. Lots of people in the house, and lots of memories created out on the lake!

Then, to make a great summer even better, we had a visit from our other side of the family for the 4th of July! Thanks Holly, Josh, Zach, Jeff, Kelly, Lily and Talan for making the long trip to see us! We enjoyed every minute of it!

Todd and I were given the task of carrying on Dale's tradition of skiing on the 4th - I am sore in places I didn't even know existed!!!!

Here are a few photos from our time at the lake - I will have lots more in the next few weeks!

Fun in the Sun!!!

Not much new here other than it's HOT already!!! We seriously need to upgrade this pool from last year...not quite big enough for three anymore!! The babies love the pool and bathtub, so we're really hoping they love the lake, too!

Here's what's new:

Everyone is walking!!!!! Elli is cruising around like she owns the place, Tyler takes four steps at a time, falls, puts his rear end back up in the air, pops up and he's back at it again, and dainty Haley takes a few steps then swan dives into our arms - sometimes not-so-gracefully I might add! If I don't update the blog for awhile it's probably because we're being investigated for all their bumps and bruises! That is the worst part of their newfound independence! Ouch!

The latest tooth count:
Ellison: 5
Haley: 1/2 *
Tyler: 1/2 *
*We can barely see the surface of a tiny tooth!

So that's about it for now! Enjoy the photos and say a prayer that we all survive this madness!!!!

Elli is so excited about her first tu tu she can barely stand it!!!

We really need a bigger pool!!!

Confession

I really need to come clean and confess. I was reading through some of my past blogs and I feel like I've been misleading. When I write this blog, I tend to give the impression that life with triplets is a breeze and every day is a joy. Well, the truth is, life in our house is barely manageable these days. Jeff and I swore for better or worse, but we never imagined that the "worse" could be this bad. He and I are constantly at odds, and to be perfectly honest, I'm exhausted. I used to have a ton of patience, and now I fly off the handle over the smallest things. As a matter of fact, last night I just snapped. Jeff was laying on the couch flipping channels while I was chasing the kids around. He never once got up to help and I just flipped out. I never knew I had that kind of rage in me...he never even saw it coming...

JUST KIDDING!!!! Had ya' goin', huh?!

Jeff has had a grass allergy for years and I have begged him to hire someone to take care of the yard. Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn...this is the result of mowing the yard on Tuesday - even with a mask, long sleeves, gloves, etc. That's a SERIOUS allergy. I don't think I need to worry about him mowing anymore. This photo actually doesn't even come close to showing how bad it really is. His eyes were so swollen this morning he couldn't open them at all. His skin is seeping and he itches like crazy. I can't even imagine how absolutely miserable he feels. Poor guy!

The kids are doing great, and honestly, life in our house is so wonderful! Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of work, but we're having the time of our lives! And don't worry, Jeff and I are doing great, too!

A few photos to enjoy!

New Pics

Let's see...what's new in our neighborhood? Last week, Jeff and I went on our first vacation since the babies were born. Our good friend Matt married a wonderful girl in San Diego, and we left the babies in the capable hands of Jeff's mom and her husband for the first part of the week, and my mom for the second part. We haven't heard from Jeff's mom yet...I think she might still be recovering! She and Ronnie kept score all week, and by the time we got home the scoreboard was Grandparents: 0.5pt vs Babies: 4.5pts A total landslide!!!!

Ellison is days away from taking her first step. She just needs a little confidence and she'll be off and running! Tyler has been practicing standing up on his own, so I have a feeling he'll be right behind her! Haley, as usual, is practicing in her bed when she thinks we're not watching - knowing her, she'll wait until she's perfected it before trying it in front of anyone!

Our tooth count is 4. Ellison has one on the bottom and three on the top, and she's discovered they make a cool noise when she grinds the top ones on the bottom one. Ugh. If you're doing the math, Haley and Tyler still have NO teeth! Most kids their age are eating chicken McNuggets...ourS are still eating pureed beans. Actually, the thing they love to eat more than anything is rice and beans from our favorite mexican restaurant! Kinda hard to choke on rice and beans!

Elli weighs enough for a big girl carseat and she absolutely loves it! She gets to face forward, and you can tell by the grin on her face she thinks she is one cool chic!!!! Haley and Tyler still have a pound or so more to gain before they can face forward, so for now they are enjoying talking to Elli since they can see her from their seats! Haley is going through her second allergy season...tiny bumps on her skin...she can blame daddy for that one! She doesn't seem to be too bothered, and we know it will pass in a couple of weeks! Tyler has learned a new "call of the wild" - he sounds like a wild animal trying to round up some homies for the big takedown. I think Jeff and I are the ones he's trying to take down!!!

Jeff and I are LOVING this new phase they are in! They have been so much fun lately!

TYLER...SURELY THERE IS A TOOTH IN THERE SOMEWHERE!!!

They Were Quiet...

Every parent knows that if their children are being quiet, they are up to something...and it's usually not something particularly good! When I came out of the bedroom after getting ready one morning this week, it was oddly quiet in the house. Jeff said they were playing in the bathroom (which they love to do), but normally you can hear them talking, rustling through magazines, and pounding on the toilet lid. Not this morning! Here's what I found when I peeked around the corner...notice Haley in the background...

Here are some more random photos, including a few from Easter Sunday!
